How to Perform Windows Updates
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for performing Windows Updates without admin rights, assuming the system allows user-initiated updates.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings
Press Windows + I to open the Settings window.
Step 2: Navigate to Windows Update
In the Settings window, click on Windows Update (usually at the bottom of the left panel).
Step 3: Check for Updates
Click the Check for updates button. Windows will search for available updates.
Step 4: Download Available Updates
If updates are found, they will begin downloading automatically. You’ll see a progress bar and status messages.
Step 5: Install Updates
Once downloaded, updates will install automatically. Some updates may require a restart to complete.
Step 6: Restart if Prompted
If Windows asks to restart, save your work and click Restart now. This ensures updates are applied properly.
Step 7: Verify Update Status
After restarting, go back to Settings > Windows Update and confirm that your system is up to date.
Step 8: Optional: View Update History
Click Update history to see what updates have been installed. Useful for tracking recent changes or troubleshooting.
