SharePoint – How to search effectively
Searching properly in SharePoint helps users find the right files or information quickly without wasting time. Instead of clicking through folders or scrolling through long lists, users can type in keywords or use filters to get exactly what they need.

Go to Your List or Library
- Navigate to the SharePoint site.
- Open the list or document library where you want to search the file.

Search the item
- Go to Search bar of the library and type “body:David”, considering David is a text which lies under the targeted document.
- The list will show all the documents whose body contains David.
