End User Guide: MFA Setup on Phone

Step 1: Sign in to Microsoft 365

Go to https://office.com
Click Sign in and enter your work or school email and password.

Step 2: Begin MFA Setup

After signing in, you’ll be prompted with “More information required”.
Click Next to begin the MFA setup wizard.

Step 3: Install Microsoft Authenticator App

On your phone, go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Search for Microsoft Authenticator and install it.

Step 4: Add Your Account to the App

Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Tap + to add an account.
Choose Work or school account.
Use your phone to scan the QR code shown on your computer screen.

Step 5: Verify the Setup

After scanning, your account will appear in the app.
On your computer, click Next.
A test notification will be sent to your phone.
Approve the notification in the app.

Step 6: Finish Setup

Once approved, you’ll see a confirmation message.
Click Done to complete the setup.
